We asked our Success Team for the top resources that they recommend to their clients and also which resources they refer to themselves time and time again to keep up with the latest information. These lists reflect their input.

Medical & Research Resources
This research university in Australia developed the low FODMAP diet. You can read about the diet from their perspective as well as find links to their smartphone apps (iPhone and Android), which we highly recommend. They are constantly adding new information and this is the best place to keep up to date with their FODMAP team, who are on the cutting edge of emerging FODMAP science.

They also provide a low FODMAP training program for dietitians and healthcare professionals, as well as certification services for food products (such as FODY) as well as recipes (see our filter for our exclusive Monash Certified Recipes).
FODMAP Friendly, one of the leaders in the low FODMAP landscape, was founded by Tim Mottin and Sue Shepherd. Sue had previously been on the research team at Monash University that developed the low FODMAP diet. FODMAP Friendly is best known for their certification trademark. The round logo, featuring interlocking green “Fs”, signifies to consumers that the product bearing the logo has been laboratory tested to be low in FODMAPs and safe to consume when following the low FODMAP diet, even during Elimination.
FODMAP Friendly uses DTS Food Assurance, an independent lab and Australia’s largest food testing organization for their FODMAP testing. Their similar, but square logo , is used for Accreditation to identify those organizations and persons who demonstrate expertise, knowledge and practical understanding of FODMAPs. For instance, FODMAP Everyday® is Accredited by FODMAP Friendly and Dédé Wilson, our co-Founder, is also individually Accredited. University of Michigan
At My GI Nutrition, managed by the Division of Gastroenterology within the University of Michigan Health System, you will find reliable and up-to-date information on the low FODMAP diet as well as IBS. They have helpful videos and some recipes to help you at every stage of the low FODMAP diet. They also provide updates about educational programs and presentations that you might want to attend if you are a health professional.
This professional organization is a valuable resource for reliable digestive health knowledge, support, and assistance about functional gastrointestinal (GI) and motility disorders (FGIMDs). They function as a nonprofit and offer information on digestive disorders in adults and children. They publish current news, maintain a digitally accessible library and even have a tool to help you find a doctor.
An independent not for profit 501(c) 3 organization committed to the continuous development, legitimization and preservation of the field of FGIDs (functional gastrointestinal disorders) through science-based activities. The foundation began in Rome in the late 1980s when they developed diagnostic criteria for IBS and they have continued to advance new research and tools for medical professionals ever since. The Rome Guidelines (now in their IV incarnation) continue to be the touchstone for IBS diagnosis.
The link for this program and lab, headed by Dr. Mark Pimentel, provides information for IBS patients as well as medical professionals. Dr. Pimentel pioneered the use of rifaximin (Xifaxan) to treat IBS; it was his research that lead to the idea that IBS could be a bacterial disorder and the use of this antibiotic has been groundbreaking in helping to alleviate symptoms; (you can read about the double blind clinical trial, here). The site provides a medical library, a description of programs and services, a find-a-doctor tool and more.
This educational institution provides basic information on the low FODMAP diet for the IBS sufferer and also has courses for health professionals. They have conducted original research on the diet and also offer digital and print tools for professionals as well as followers of the diet.
Referred to as the ACG, they are dedicated to advancing gastroenterology and improving patient care. Portions of the site are geared towards doctors and medical professionals and they have resources for patients (podcasts, brochures, information on clinical trials, to name just a few). There is a membership-only area that allows access to expanded offerings, from online published journals to a searchable membership database, access to ACG Case Reports Journal, applications for Fellowship and more.
This is a monthly newsletter, available in print and online, geared mostly towards health professionals but there is much for the IBS sufferer as well. Read about the latest in fecal transplants in relation to IBS bloating, the role of the registered dietitian in your healing, a roundup of which SIBO protocols are considered the best and much more. You do have to register with the website, but registration is free.
This organization is a public information service put together by the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility. The website can be viewed in English, Spanish and French and they constantly update information on current news, research and events. They also create infographics that are a great tool for health practitioners to share with their patients – or if you are the patient, they are a great way to digest complex information more easily.
This organization is an international and collaborative effort to provide information, diagnostic services and treatment to individuals with adverse reactions to food. They also maintain a a strong research and clinical interest in the beneficial effects of food and nutrition through whole foods. They are comprised of a network of physicians and dieticians with different clinical backgrounds and expertise, all with a special interest in food-related reactions. The services are coordinated by Dr. Clive Wilder-Smith, specialist gastroenterologist and academic researcher. Their testing hubs are located in Australia, Singapore, South Africa and Switzerland.

EA, as she is known, is a registered and integrative dietitian, nutrition coach, gluten-free recipe developer and digestive health expert. EA offers meal plans and cooking classes near her Del Mar, CA practice and is available for virtual phone and Skype sessions
Kate Scarlata, RDN is one of the foremost authorities on the low FODMAP diet here in the U.S. and also follows the diet herself! She co-authored the book The Low FODMAP Diet Step by Step with FODMAP Everyday’s co-founder, Dédé Wilson.
This website is run by dietitian Joe Leech, who has a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics and his team includes Monash trained dietitians as well. While they offer broad coverage including information on autoimmune disease, metabolic health and genetics, they do have a special focus on the low FODMAP diet and offer many videos, downloadable handouts and PDFs.
Colleen is a Certified Nutritionist Consultant, has been educating about the low FODMAP diet for years and follows the diet herself. Her site offers many educational tools, recipes, downloads, easy-to-understand infographics and she offers a course that you can use at home to guide you through the low FODMAP diet. She also wrote The Everything Low FODMAP Diet Cookbook.
